Champions/1960/Spring Neighborhood
North
Making up the third area of Houston's northwest is the land between Highways 249 and I-45. The "Champions" was the northwest's first subdivision 30 years ago and the area retains the name. Giving impetus to growth were Houston's Intercontinental Airport and the Beltway 8 Sam Houston Tollway. Other subdivisions followed, including Olde Oaks and Champions Forest with homes priced from the $100,000s to $1 million or more. Other notable subdivisions are Northgate Forest, Huntwick, Wibledon and Augusta Pines. Country clubs and golf courses abound in the area, and the shopping is excellent, with Willowbrook Mall and the Greenspoint Mall just minutes away.

Champions/1960/Spring Neighborhood
Much of the new building in the area is attributable to the nearby location of Houston-based HP/Compaq Computer Corp. In the area, slightly West, off Highway 290 are some wonderful master-planned communities such as Windrose and Gleannloch Farms
