Kingwood, also known as the Livable Forest,and is a master-planned community created in 1971 and sits on 15,000 acres located about 23 miles north of Downtown Houston, just off of U.S. 59. Kingwood is divided into 21 planned villages each with a separate village association, distinct style, and varying home prices. Kingwood is best known for being a community that exists in harmony with nature and is truly like living in a forest due to the heavily wooded acreage characterized by tall pines, magnolias and 20 other types of shade trees.

Kingwood has over 500 acres of private parks, nature reserves and greenbelts. Also, there are two community sports parks with soccer, baseball and softball fields.

With over 75 miles of greenbelts, patrolled by police on bicycles, you can enjoy walking, hiking and biking through the woods, along the lake and into the nature reserve.

Kingwood is also a golfer's paradise, The Clubs of Kingwood Country Club, touted as the world's largest Country Club, offers the community the prestige of six championship golf courses. It houses more than 1,000 acres of fairways, more than any other community in Houston. There are homes below that are on the golf course but keep in mind just about any home in Kingwood will have a golf course VERY close by. Schools in Kingwood are highly rated with the majority having either a recognized or exemplary rating.
