Located 30 miles north of Downtown Houston, The Woodlands is the top rated master-planned community in Texas and in the top ten in the country, and with good reason. The Woodlands is a 28,000 acre residential and commercial community and is home to more than 88,000 residents, 1,500 businesses, 155 miles of hike and bike paths, 115 parks, several lakes and championship golf courses and millions of square feet of shopping, dining, entertainment venues commercial office space. The Woodlands Town Center, known as the "downtown" of The Woodlands is a European style, pedestrian friendly area that includes Market Street and The Woodlands Waterway, a 1.25-mile long linear park and water taxi corridor that links 6 million square feet of shopping, dining, businesses, entertainment venues and residential condos and brownstones. the_woodlands_tx_300If outdoor shopping is not enough, the 1.3 million square-foot Woodlands Mall is adjacent, as is The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, an outdoor performing arts center that hosts many top performers. Like every downtown, there is a downtown park and in The Woodlands it's the Town Green Park. This 4 acre green space features a children's labyrinth and sculpture garden.

Creekside Park, the latest Woodlands village, residents enjoy vast area parklands including the 1,700 acre George Mitchell Nature Preserve-named in honor of the Woodlands founder. there is also the Rob Fleming Aquatic Center which features a resort-style pool, lazy river, lap pool and canoe ramp.

Housing prices and housing options in The Woodlands vary. Prices start at around 150K-$1 million+ for a townhome or loft. Single family homes range from 300K to over $4 million for a grand, luxurious estate. On average, you can expect to pay around 400K to 700K for a beautiful, recently or newly built home with lots of ammenities.
