Innovation, job growth and immigration put this Lone Star city ahead of New York and Boston In the June 7 print edition of Forbes magazine, an analysis is done to try to determine why Houstonh has done so well. The article talks about the tremendous job growth, pro-business climate, low tax environment, investment in infrastructure and the strong real estate market. “So what does Houston have that these other cities lack? Opportunity.” “Houston has considerably expanded its white-collar workforce. According to the Praxis Strategy Group, Houston's ranks of college-educated residents grew 13% between 2005 and 2008.
