Located just south of Downtown Houston, next to Hermann Park and Rice University, there are many neighborhoods that surround the Texas Medical Center and many that are within 15 minutes. Housing styles vary widely from traditional to contemporary homes, from grand estates to luxurious high rises and just about everything in between. The older neighorhoods such as Braeswood and Meyerland will have plenty of one-story 1950's ranch homes and here you'll find some amazing mid-century modern styles as well.
Just about any neighborhood inside the Loop in Houston will be within a 30 minute commute to the Texas medical Center, most are less. The Museum District, West University Place, and Southgate/Southampton are adjacent to the Medical Center. Montrose, Midtown, River Oaks, Upper Kirby, Afton Oaks, Highland Village and Bellaire will be a 10-15 drive as will the Meyerland and Braeswood neighborhoods. The Heights and Woodland Heights will be the furthest inside the Loop but still 20-30 mins with no freeways involved. The best suburbs closest to the Medical Center will be Pearland, Sugar Land and Sienna Plantation in Missouri City.
