The Montrose Houston neighborhood was once known for it's more "bohemian" and artsy types, it is now home to a true mix of residents and in recent years, great restaurants thanks to it's great Inner Loop location and walkability. In fact, In 2009, Montrose was named one of the top great neighborhoods in the nation by the American Planning Association.

On the historic front, Courtlandt Place, a gated enclave that has early 20th-century houses that were designed by Houston's foremost architects of the period and built for some of the city's most prominent families. Courtlandt Place is a City of Houston Historic Landmark and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

 Other Houston Montrose areas  such as Avondale, Westmoreland,  Cortlandt Place and Cherryhurst all  have homes full of  charm and  character. For those with more  modern tastes, there are  also plenty of townhomes, lofts  and condos. Montrose is also  home to great restaurants, funky  antique, vintage stores and much  more. Real estate ranges in price, as of 2017/2018 from around $250,000 for a one bedroom condo, upper $300's and higher for a 3 bedroom, 3 story townhome or loft, upper $400's-$700's + for a Cherryhurst bungalow on up to $1 million + for a stately home in historic Cortlandt Place or Avondale.
